The arrival of warmer weather brings an exciting lineup of concerts and events to LaGrange, Georgia. Featuring multiple venues to enjoy live music, there’s always something to listen to in this storied city.

Explore Sweetland Amphitheatre, which has hosted legendary names such as Gladys Knight, Willie Nelson, Jeff Foxworthy, and Nelly. The 2,500 seat venue provides an incredible outdoor venue for star-studded performances and community events, all within walking distance of restaurants and shops and near local hotels and attractions.

If you’re looking for a more private and intimate venue, Pure Life House of Music is a listening room located in the historic Hillside district that features singer-songwriters alongside regular community performances and is brown bag approved (BYOB). Eclectic seating adds charm to this 130-seat listening room, tailor-made for a variety of solo, duo and trio acts playing blues, jazz, folk and assorted acoustic genres.

Several local restaurants, wineries, and breweries are also known for hosting live-music nearly every weekend! Many smaller and local artists are hosted at LaGrange’s favorite places to eat and drink. Check these venues out to discover who’s playing during your vacation!

SAWYER BROWN WITH THE FRONTMEN OF COUNTRY

Sawyer Brown is an American country music band. It was founded in 1981 in Kokomo, Indiana, by Mark Miller (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Gregg “Hobie” Hubbard (keyboards, vocals), Bobby Randall (lead guitar, vocals), Joe “Curly” Smyth (drums), and Jim Scholten (bass guitar).

Sawyer Brown has released 18 studio albums and has charted over 50 times on the Hot Country Songs charts, including three No. 1 singles: “Step That Step” (1985), “Some Girls Do” (1992), and “Thank God for You” (1993). The band’s sound is largely defined by country pop and rock music influences, with cover versions of songs by George Jones, Michael Johnson, and Dave Dudley also among their hit singles.

The Frontmen of Country are known for their roles as lead singers in other country music bands: Richie McDonald of Lonestar, Larry Stewart of Restless Heart, and Tim Rushlow of Little Texas. They began performing impromptu shows for soldiers throughout the 2010s, but began officially promoting themselves as The Frontmen of Country in 2017.

In his 25-year career in country music, Trace Adkins has sold over 11 million albums, charted over 20 singles, earned numerous awards and Grammy nominations, and garnered over two billion streams. A Grand Ole Opry member for nearly two decades, the Louisiana native is known for dynamic baritone and fiery, always-memorable live performances.

He broke out in 1996 with the debut album, Dreamin’ Out Loud, cracking the Top 5 of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart with “Every Light In the House Is On” and following with the #1 smash, “This Ain’t (No Thinkin’ Thing).” Since then, Adkins has pioneered a mix of classic Country-minded traditionalism and adventurous, good-natured showmanship, breaking open new avenues in modern Country through fun-filled hits like “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” and “Hillbilly Bone” (with Blake Shelton).

Calvin Richardson is a nationally-recognized singer, songwriter, and entertainer who delights fans. In additional to his own legacy of successful albums and chart topping singles, he has written multi-platinum, platinum, and gold hit singles for many of the music industry’s top recording artists including Charlie Wilson, Angie Stone, Joe, and Raphael Saadiq. USA Today declares Calvin Richardson is “influenced by vintage R&B and his gritty vocals sets him apart from contemporaries…fresh vibes for a singer who respects his roots.” Richardson’s music touches soul, R&B, blues and pop.

Joining Richardson on the Sweetland Amphitheatre stage are Soul Therapy and special guest DJ Wally Sparks.

Don’t miss these iconic country artists as they come together to swap stories and perform their classic songs all on one stage.

While breaking into the ranks of stardom in country music, Sammy Kershaw has made contributions to more than just the charts. His Platinum albums were propelled into the record books by hits such as She Don’t Know She’s Beautiful, I Can’t Reach Her Anymore, National Working Woman’s Holiday, Love of My Life, Cadillac Style, Don’t Go Near the Water, Haunted Heart…and many other milestones.

Collin Raye is nothing if not passionate. His soulful delivery has set country standards in such searing ballads as Love, Me, In This Life, Not That Different and If I Were You. Always an energizing showman, he has also blazed through such vivid rockers as My Kind of Girl, That’s My Story, I Can Still Feel You and I want You Bad. With 24 top ten records, 16 #1 hits, and having been a 10-time male vocalist of the year nominee (5 CMA and 5 ACM), this truly electrifying performer of his era remains one of the great voices of our time.

Aaron Tippin has crusaded for the working man and woman since he ripped country music wide open with his uncompromising single You’ve Got to Stand for Something. His voice continued to ring loud and clear with such hits as I Wouldn’t Have it any Other Way, There Ain’t Nothin’ Wrong with the Radio, That’s as Close as I’ll Get to Loving You, My Blue Angel, and Kiss This. Five of his albums are certified gold and a sixth CD, Read Between the Lines, stands at the platinum level. Best known for her stop-you-in-your-tracks voice, Liz Longley is an accomplished singer-songwriter based out of Nashville, TN. With her deeply emotional music, Longley has earned accolades from some of the most prestigious songwriting competitions in the country, including the BMI John Lennon Songwriting Scholarship Competition.

Her self-titled debut album received critical acclaim, being described as “something more; a cleverness, a wit and a mix of musical styles” (Dallas Morning News) and “stunning” (HuffPost). Her follow up album Weightless, released in 2016, was praised as “a thing of beauty” (Pop Dose) and “packed with instantly memorable pop rock songs…” (Popmatters).

Despite being born and raised in a sleepy Alabama mill town, MarDe Brooks has steadily made a name for himself in the singer-songwriter scene across the country. This soulful vocalist and rhythm guitarist has given life to songs and sounds as unique as he is, heavy-laden with notes of southern rock, country, and the southern Appalachian region from which he hails.

MarDe has shared the stage with other noteworthy performing artists including: Blackberry Smoke, Arlo McKinley, Alex Williams, Red Shahan, Drivin’ N Cryin’, and many more.

Blues and soul singer/songwriter and guitarist, Jesse Williams is a mountain mama of many different roots grounded in sultry sweet blues infused with warm soul and melody medicine. Hailing from North Georgia with a heart for grooves and the deep belief that it’s best savored when simmered.

The sounds and get-downs are a full course meal of experiences. From thrills and nuances of long loved inspirations like Bonnie Raitt, Susan Tedeschi, and Aretha Franklin, to Derek Trucks, the Allman Brothers, and early influences like her family’s band the End of the Trail Band, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Jimi Hendrix.

TUCKA WITH POKEY BEAR & SPECIAL GUEST WEST LOVE

Hailing from Louisiana, Tucka is an R&B singer who began a career in 2007, when he sing lead with Keith Frank & the Soileau Zydeco Band. He sang with the group until 2008 when he earned the nickname the King of Swing, known for his pillow talk songs that utilize sounds from the 70’s and 80’s, he quickly became a regional hit and opened for the likes of Mystikal and Lenny Williams.

Pokey Bear is an R&B musician who has elevated the genre with his distinctive sound and aesthetic. He incorporates elements of blues, jazz, and funk into his music to produce a sound that is both fresh and classic. Pokey Bear’s music is renowned for its emotional depth, and he has a knack of establishing a personal connection with his listeners through it.

West Love, a native of Valdosta, Georgia, found her ability to sing at a young age and eventually began to perform with “The 478 Band.” Opening for artists like Pokey Bear, Tucka, Bobby Rush, and many more well-known performers, West Love has gained a positive reputation for blowing others away with her amazing singing talents.

The wildwoods

The Wildwoods are an enchanting Folk/Americana trio based in Lincoln, Nebraska, whose flowing songwriting tandem has been praised by Paste Magazine as “focused and charmingly human”. The Wildwoods’ delicate melodies and descriptive lyrics come from nature, love, experiences from the road, and growing up in Nebraska.

The band released their debut album, Sweet Nostalgia, followed by a duo EP, Birdie & Goose, in 2017, and quickly established themselves as a creative, harmonious, and instrumental force in their local music scene. Since then, The Wildwoods have released another full-length record, Across A Midwest Sky (2019), as well as a handful of singles, Little Home (2020) and Like My Old Man (2021), and have supported touring acts such as Elephant Revival, Arts Fishing Club, The Accidentals, The Way Down Wanderers, and Jamie Wyatt.

Flo Rida is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. His 2007 breakout single “Low” was number one for 10 weeks in the United States and broke the record for digital download sales at the time of its release.

Flo Rida’s debut studio album, 2008’s Mail on Sunday, reached number four in the US. The album was succeeded by R.O.O.T.S., the next year. His subsequent albums, 2010’s Only One Flo (Part 1) and 2012’s Wild Ones, also charted on the US Billboard 200 chart. Flo Rida has sold over 80 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists. His catalog includes the international hit singles “Right Round”, “Club Can’t Handle Me”, “Good Feeling”, “Wild Ones”, “Whistle”, “I Cry”, “G.D.F.R.”, and “My House”.

Grammy winner Mike Farris is an artist’s artist, a musician’s musician, celebrated and revered by his fellow performers. It’s no wonder. He’s the one who brings everything to his music and to every live performance, every time.

Mike is a Grammy, Americana and Dove Music Award winner with multiple solo recordings, including his last full length release; “Silver and Stone.” His iconic personal appearances include the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concert honoring Aretha Franklin.

He was featured on Patty Griffin’s Grammy-winning “Downtown Church,” and appeared with Griffin on Austin City Limits. He shared the stage with Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Double Trouble on the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame special and made his Grand Ole Opry debut in 2018.

RADNEY FOSTER AND BARRY WALDREP

Radney Foster has written eight number one hit singles, including his own “Nobody Wins,” and “Crazy Over You” with duo Foster & Lloyd. His discography contains countless cuts by artists ranging anywhere from country (Keith Urban, The Dixie Chicks, Luke Bryan, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band) to contemporary (Marc Broussard, Hootie & The Blowfish, Kenny Loggins, Los Lonely Boys).

Barry Waldrep is a very accomplished musician on acoustic guitar, electric guitar, mandolin, and banjo. From his early days of bluegrass festivals to traveling the country on the jam band circuit, Barry is well-versed in many different genres of music, and able to hear the difference in how it should be played. He has recorded, toured, and performed with well-known artists like Zac Brown, John Cowan, Tony Rice, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, Joey & Rory, Randy Travis, John Berry, Jimmy Hall, and many more.

Everclear is an American rock band formed in Portland, Oregon, in 1991.[The band was formed by Art Alexakis, the band’s lead songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist. Sister Hazel is an American alternative rock band from Gainesville, Florida, whose style blends elements of jangle pop, folk rock, classic rock, and southern rock.They are best known for their 1997 single “All for You.”

Multi-platinum entertainer, Sara Evans, is at the top of her game. As the fifth most-played female artist at country radio in nearly the last two decades—her five No. 1 singles include “No Place That Far,” “Suds In The Bucket, “A Real Fine Place To Start,” “Born to Fly,” and “A Little Bit Stronger,” which spent 2 weeks in the top spot and was certified platinum by the R.I.A.A. Sara’s “stunning, country voice” (Rolling Stone) has earned her the prestigious Academy of Country Music Top Female vocalist accolade as well as numerous American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Country Music Association, CMT and Grammy Awards nominations. In addition, the CMA awarded Video of the Year honors for her hit chart-topping single, “Born to Fly” from her landmark double-platinum album of the same name.

Colt Ford with Kidd G

Colt Ford, is an American singer, rapper, songwriter, entrepreneur, and former professional golfer best known for his music fusing the country and rap genres. He has released seven albums via Average Joes Entertainment, which he co-founded. Ford has charted six times on the Hot Country Songs charts and co-wrote (with Brantley Gilbert) “Dirt Road Anthem”, a song on his 2008 album Ride Through the Country, which Jason Aldean later covered on his My Kinda Party album. Ford was the first, and so far only, artist to have a Number One album on Billboard Top Country Albums and Top Rap Albums.

Kidd G was 11 years old when his older brother, Dustin, got his first car. Dustin wasn’t quite old enough to drive it yet, but he could use it to listen to music, and he and his younger brother would sit in the front seat for hours, soaking in Rae Sremmurd, Young Thug, Chance the Rapper. Before long, Kidd G was teaching himself to freestyle. By the time he was 16, Kidd G — born Jonathan Gabriel Horne, Gabe to his friends — was writing his own music: scabrous emo-rap clearly indebted to Juice WRLD, full of rich melodies and ticked-off lyrics. In October 2021 , his single “Dirt Road” — his first attempt at country music — hit No. 40 on hot country songs strictly off streams, an anomaly for that chart, which favors radio hits.

4X Grammy nominee Jewel, and 2X Grammy winner Melissa Etheridge announce a two-part co-headlining tour. Jewel will perform music from her latest studio album, “Freewheelin’ Woman,” as well as fan favorites from her extensive back catalog, including her Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum debut album, “Pieces of You,” and her multi-platinum follow up “Spirit,” which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary with a deluxe reissue on Craft Recordings.

Known for her confessional lyrics and raspy, smoky vocals, Melissa Etheridge has remained one of America’s favorite female singer-songwriters for more than two decades. For several years, her popularity grew around such memorable originals as “Bring Me Some Water,” “No Souvenirs” and “Ain’t It Heavy,” for which she won a Grammy in 1992.

Throughout her career Jewel has been nominated 33 times for several music awards from prestigious organizations including The Grammy’s, American Music Awards, MTV Awards, VH1 Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and the Country Music Awards. She has won 21 times for various categories such as Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Favorite Female Artist and more. Heralded by the New York Times as “One of the best singer-songwriters since Joni Mitchell,” Jewel has earned four Grammy Award nominations and has sold over 30 million albums.

A singer, composer and actor, Lyle Lovett has broadened the definition of American music in a career that spans 14 albums. Coupled with his gift for storytelling, the Texas-based musician fuses elements of country, swing, jazz, folk, gospel and blues in a convention-defying manner that breaks down barriers. Whether touring as a ‘Duo’ or with his ‘Acoustic Group’ or his ‘Large Band,’ Lovett’s live performances show not only the breadth of this Texas legend’s deep talents, but also the diversity of his influences, making him one of the most compelling and captivating musicians in popular music. Since his self-titled debut in 1986, Lyle Lovett has evolved into one of music’s most vibrant and iconic performers. Among his many accolades, besides the four Grammy Awards, he was given the Americana Music Association’s inaugural Trailblazer Award, and was named Texas State Musician. His works, rich and eclectic, are some of the most beloved of any artist working today.

If you find yourself at the end of the concert but not ready for the evening to end we have a few ideas for you. Stop by Wild Leap Brew Co, a popular brewery and taproom with live music and events on weekends. Visitors can enjoy a variety of craft beers and food trucks while listening to local musicians. Brickhouse Grille is also a great spot for late-night entertainment, offering live music on weekends, a full bar and a diverse menu of American cuisine.

Leon Majcen is a musician whose story is one of resilience and determination. He grew up on the Gulf Coast of Florida, the son of Bosnian War refugees who had fled their homeland in search of a better life for their children. From an early age, Leon was drawn to the power of storytelling through music, particularly the work of artists like Townes Van Zandt, John Prine, Bob Dylan, and Guy Clark.

Nick Mayfield is a true virtuoso, skilled in both guitar and mandolin, and his gravely voice is the icing on the cake. His live shows are a sight to behold, as he effortlessly fuses his original compositions with improvisational chord progressions and loop mixes, creating an unforgettable experience.

GRACE PETTIS AND ROBBY HECHT

Grace Pettis epitomizes the term singer/songwriter. As a singer, her voice is both powerful and beautiful, and she uses it like a fine arts painter to color and craft her songs. American Songwriter Magazine wrote “As a decorated songwriter, Pettis blurs the lines between country, Americana and folk. Her soulful delivery of calculated lyric lines helps her tell stories for all generations.”
