Hills & Dales Estate

Built by the Callaway family in 1916, Hills & Dales Estate was designed to complement the gardens planted over half a century before by Sarah Ferrell. Both the Estate and the gardens provide a majestic backdrop for any occasion. The Ferrell Gardens, one of the best preserved 19th century gardens in the country, is full of blooms all year long. The vibrant flowers and greenery in the historic garden will make any photo pop. The Italian villa style of the Estate shines through with its white stucco exterior and red tiled roof. From the grand two-story portico on the east side of the home to the fountain and elaborate details of the south side, every angle of the Estate is gorgeous and camera ready! Check out the Hills & Dales Bloom Calendar to see what’s in bloom this time of year!

West Point Lake

West Point Lake is cinematic gold for nature shots. Find breathtaking sunsets, serene forests and if you’re lucky, a bald eagle! Pyne Road Park provides particularly scenic views of the lake. This park boasts wide-open green space that meets the shoreline, complete with a wooden dock next to a gorgeous solo tree. At sunset, the silhouette of the tree with the lake in the background makes for an especially magical photo.

Nutwood Winery

At Nutwood Winery, find dozens of photo ops full of Southern charm. The winery welcomes you with an elongated, pecan tree-lined driveway that leads up to a stunning Greek revival style manor. As for the winery itself, at the entrance of the tasting room sits an antique truck, its bed loaded with neatly stacked wine barrels carefully placed for the perfect picture. The barn-like structure of the tasting room is photo worthy both inside and out. Inside the tasting room features high ceilings with colorful decor. The outside section provides excellent views of the winery and at night, string lights glisten creating a cozy atmosphere.

Lafayette Square, located in the center of downtown LaGrange, is an iconic symbol of the City. The fountain and statue of Marquis de Lafayette, a Revolutionary War Hero, stands at the center of the square surrounded with manicured grass, trees and benches. Featured in the background of Lafayette Square are shops and eateries of the downtown area. At night, Lafayette Square is particularly picturesque. The square sparkles with lights that drape from the trees and the fountain shines with spotlights on the statue of Marquis de Lafayette.

Callaway Memorial Tower

Callaway Memorial Tower, modeled after the Campanile of St. Mark’s Square in Venice, Italy, stands on an expansive lawn surrounded by beautiful trees and benches. The contrast of the red brick of the clock tower against the beautifully landscaped foliage around it makes for a stunning backdrop! While Callaway Memorial Tower is captivating year-round, in the fall, be sure to capture beautiful sunlit images with the golden foliage from gingko trees.

LaGrange College campus is full of gorgeous buildings and scenery, yet the most eye-catching is the chapel. The stained glass windows in the chapel, once home to the 1898 First United Methodist Church of LaGrange, make the building stand out. With ornate stained glass windows surrounding the building and detailed framework around the entrance, LaGrange College Chapel is an excellent place to snap a few shots.

Sunny Gables Estate
