Start your guy’s weekend in style, taking to Liberty Hill Sporting Club’s renowned clays course and hunting preserve. With over 700 acres of beautiful Georgia woodland waiting to be explored, the expansive property of Liberty Hill Sporting Club is perfect for any sportsman. Bookend your day on the clays course with delicious meals from some of LaGrange’s most famous restaurants. Gus’s Grill is the ideal way to start any adventure, and nothing hits the spot after a day of competing like Country’s Barbecue!

COFFEE, OMELETTES & BOTTOMLESS COFFEE

Start your getaway with a hearty breakfast at Gus’s Grill. Located next to Lafayette Square in downtown LaGrange, the menu boasts classic breakfast options with a Greek flare. Known for their endless fresh coffee, homemade biscuits and friendly service, your crew will feel like locals at Gus’s Grill. With a hodgepodge of decor ranging from magazine clippings, funny signs, flags and more, your crew will find entertainment on the walls as you await the day’s first meal!

SPORTING CLAY

Get ready to fire off some rounds at Liberty Hill Sporting Club! Liberty Hill Sporting Club hosts sporting clays and five-stand courses on 700 acres of wooded territory in the outskirts of LaGrange. The covered five-stand overlooks the lake and is perfect for friendly competition. Guided hunts are available, as well as overnight hunting trips available for up to eight people. The Club provides all the equipment your group will need, but of course, feel free to bring your own gear if you have it! 

HEAVEN-SENT AND HAND-SMOKED

Arguably the best BBQ in LaGrange, Country’s Barbecue is fitting after a southern day of shooting with the fellas. Cooked over hot coals and the smoke of hickory and oak, downtown LaGrange knows when Country’s is smoking meat, as the smell of hickory smoke wafts through the air. Squash your hunger with perfectly smoked BBQ and made-from-scratch southern dishes like Brunswick stew and banana pudding.

ON WEST POINT LAKE

West Point Lake spans 500+ miles of shoreline surrounded by wooded forests and wildlife. Enjoyable year-round, your crew will find plenty of parks, campgrounds, nature trails and things to do, on and around the lake. Notorious among fishermen for trophy largemouth Bass, enjoy throwing your line from your boat, kayak or beyond. Vessel rentals from jet skis to boats are available for rent via Highland Pines Resort & Marina. Fishing guides are also available if your crew is interested in the best spots on the Lake according to locals.

CATCH A GAME

Brickhouse Grille is located in downtown and has a diverse menu featuring items like salads, tacos, pizzas, burgers, wings and more. The lively atmosphere welcomes locals and travelers with live music on the weekends and drink specials almost every night of the week. Plenty of tv’s ensure you’re getting the best possible view of the big game, no matter where you sit!

SIP ON INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED BEERS

If your crew isn’t exhausted yet, head over to Wild Leap for a nightcap! The first brewery to make a name in LaGrange, Wild Leap has seen tremendous growth in four short years and is now known across the country for its craft beer and handcrafted Vodka. The historic venue itself is stunning, with an impressive indoor tasting room, pet-friendly outdoor courtyard and brewhouse. Order a flight and enjoy a game or get pumped for corn hole. An 18 hole, links style golf course situated amongst rolling hills and gorgeous scenery, The Fields Golf Club features wide open fairways, fescue hazards, and firm and fast conditions. Wind is usually a factor on this course and many holes are modeled after some of the classics across the pond. Grab a cart and hit the links with the fellas!

BRUNCH AT BEACON

Beacon Brewing Co. isn’t just known for its Belgian- and Bavarian-style craft beers but also its banging brunch. Located in LaGrange’s Historic Hillside district, Beacon serves up classic southern fare with an Asian spin. On the weekend, locals love the special breakfast quesadilla and french-press coffee. Not to mention on Sundays, bottomless mimosas from 12-3PM! They always have rotating specials, if you can’t decide, ask your waiter what’s been a favorite of the day!

HIT THE SIMULATOR

Golf is growing in popularity in LaGrange and the opportunities to partake are sprouting up across town. If you’re looking for more of a Top Golf experience, look no further than Drive Bar, a tech-savvy driving range and bar located just outside of LaGrange in Hogansville, Georgia. In addition to games of golf, the venue hosts tons of other games, an indoor bar fully stocked and enhanced with a Bottoms Up Draft System.

Featuring a slightly different range from The Fields and Drive Bar, FMJ Armory’s top-notch 8 lane gun range is the perfect activity to end your guy’s weekend on a high note. FMJ offers firearm rental and even hosts competitions weekly. If you and the guys are the slightest bit competitive, this is the activity for you.
