CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
DONE RIGHT
Christmas in LaGrange is truly a sight to behold. Local businesses go all-out in decorating for the most special of seasons, and Lafayette Square is brought to life by the magical Tinsel Trail! This incredible display of lights supports local charity efforts and inspires people to remember the season of giving.
Peruse the decorated storefronts of downtown LaGrange, which are dressed to the nines. We have a feeling that after you spend a weekend in our town, you will leave feeling enamored!
Starting November 22nd, Lafayette Square will be illuminated with live Christmas trees decorated by local businesses and individuals in town. A fundraiser for Circles of Troup County, the Downtown LaGrange ‘Tinsel Trail’ shows off the creative local holiday spirit. Inspired by similar displays throughout the Southeast, this event will help Circles with their goal of ending poverty in LaGrange.
Take the family to Sweetland Amphitheater and see the Great Lawn transformed into a 5,000 square foot ice-skating rink. Take in the holiday decorations, slip on a pair of skates, enjoy a snack from the concession stand, or find a spot in the heated area to watch the action. Tickets include a 2-hour time slot, and select nights feature a free movie to enjoy with your family!
You may have heard the Christmas story countless times, but what if you could experience it yourself? Take a Nativity Tour at the Biblical History Center this Christmas season, offered every Tuesday – Saturday through December 21st. Experience life-size reconstructions and authentic artifacts, and walk alongside well-informed guides as they lead you through the Christmas story with details that will bring the nativity to life.
The beginning of your tour is spent showing you what life was like during the time of Jesus’ birth, as your guide transports you to Bethlehem by showing you replicas in the center’s Archaeological Replica Garden. This helps paint the picture of what Mary and Joseph may have lived during the time of Jesus’ birth.
Don’t miss visiting the Biblical Life Artifacts gallery, with over 250 artifacts from the Israel Antiquities Authority. These items help paint an even more detailed picture of what life was like during Jesus’ time. The guides do a truly magical job of telling the story of The Nativity, and their passion for the topic is inspiring.
To further the experience, stay for a four-course Biblical Meal Experience, offering yet another dimension of immersion into a true Biblical experience. The meal features foods similar to those eaten in Israel during Jesus’ life, and your guide will provide context and connections to The Bible and The Nativity.
Santa’s on his way! And while you may not hear many tales about waterslides in the North Pole, the word on the street is that Great Wolf Lodge will be his first stop in town.
Taking a break from snow and reindeer, Santa has made his way South to do a little relaxing by the pool. He has plenty of time to talk to your whole family, and make sure everyone is on the nice list. Santa visits Great Wolf Lodge on select dates starting November 25th, perfect for a long-weekend getaway!
Step inside your own private snow globe for a festive experience complete with a hot cocoa bar, cookie decorating kit, and fun holiday games. Enjoy a magical 30-minute light show with dancing lights set to seasonal music, and take home a special keepsake ornament to remember the occasion.
Don’t worry, even as holiday cheer is high, the water park is kept at a perfect 84 degrees. The water park, and all of its awesome amenities are ready to be used no matter the temperature outside, even Santa may consider trading in his sleigh for a slide!
Part of North America’s largest family of indoor water park resorts, Great Wolf Lodge in LaGrange, Georgia is an indoor water park and dry-land adventure for the entire family.
