Bring your hiking gear to West Point Lakeside Trail to begin a 6.4-mile hike. Enjoy your immersion in Georgia’s beautiful lakeside forest; watch carefully and you may catch a glimpse of the wildlife that live on and around the lake. By the time you finish the hike, you’ll be ready for a big meal at Beacon Brewing. Beacon’s adventurous, experimental beers and unique fusion of Southern and Asian cuisine will be a post-hike delight! At dark, you’ll find yourself back at West Point Lake, fishing from a pier (or simply relaxing by the lake, if that’s more your style).

Bring your swimsuit, hat and sunscreen for your big water adventure! There are two options for your water adventure: West Point Lake or the Chattahoochee River. For a lake adventure, head to Highland Pines Resort and Marina and rent a kayak, hydrobike or stand-up paddle board. Take a leisurely cruise across the lake, chatting and watching for wildlife in one of the most beautiful places in Georgia. If you choose the river option, stop at GLL Outdoors in West Point for all-inclusive rentals of a single or double kayak and all the necessary gear. Your trip will begin just below West Point Dam; you’ll paddle smooth water for a couple of hours while enjoying luscious West Georgia scenery!
