Early Life in Troup County

In 2026, Troup County commemorates 200 years since its establishment in June 1826. This exhibition invites visitors to step back into that pivotal moment, when the county was newly formed and life on the Georgia frontier was defined by resilience, hard work, and community.

Through immersive displays, interactive elements, and replica log cabin interior, Settling In explores what daily life looked like for Troup County’s earliest residents. From settlement patterns and early industry to domestic life and survival on the frontier, the exhibit brings the world of 1826 to life and reflects on how those early foundations continue to shape the county today.
