CLASSICS 4 – Symphony Superheroes (Family/Pops)
Not all superheroes wear capes… Come hear the students of the LaGrange Symphony Youth Orchestra—our own LaGrange musical superheroes of the stage—as they join the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra for the annual side-by-side performance! Then, be awed by the heroic playing of this year’s winner of the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra’s Young Artist Competition (piano division), before we take off into the world of film scores that brought Superman, Batman, and the Avengers to the silver screen.
This concert also features music celebrating the bravery of real-life American heroes with James Horner’s magnificent score to the film Apollo 13. Finally, we honor heroic figures from the classical realm with Gioachino Rossini’s famous William Tell Overture—a masterpiece that brought the legendary Swiss hero to musical life and was famously borrowed by radio and television for The Lone Ranger!
